I've been thinking about the words Propagation and Convey and how they relate to Server Side issues and also wondering how this is addressed for public broadcast of audio or video.
For instance what happens when a GPL song is played on the radio or a movie is presented in a theatre? Are the consumers guaranteed access to the uncompressed source files?

- What's wrong with this picture? Well, one thing is that one of the fundamental premises of open source is that the licenses are all conditioned on the act of software Distribution, and once you're no longer Distributing an application, none of the licenses mean squat. -- http://infoworld.com/article/03/07/03/HNoreilly_1.html
Are we not users of software held closed by Amazon and Google?
Also wondering about remote accessability such as telnet, VNC or FreeNX etc. Those users don't receive the software as object code, they only utilize it.
How does other distributed computing (such as SETI et al) fit into this...
