I saw your change to the FAQ Update page. I like the idea of trying to avoid confusion between "free beer" and "free speech," and I think your edit does a good job of that. However, I'm a little concerned that your new answer covers a lot more territory than the original did, which might cloud the issue at hand. Part of what you wrote, about when it is and isn't okay to charge a fee for the work, is addressed by FAQ Update#Does the GPL allow me to sell copies of the program for money?. Mentioning that you may add this requirement to software copyrighted by you also seems a little tangential.
What if we make the answer closer in scope to the original, and then add a question to address the other issue, something along the lines of "Can I add requirements to the GPL?" Do you think this would address your concerns? --brett 16:03, 12 March 2006 (EST)
